Kolaylaştırıcı olarak tasarımcı: Tasarımcılar için bir müdahale metodolojisi

Abstract

In this study, the learning relationship that developed between a designer and makers who did not have prior formal design education when they worked together in the same creative environment for a certain period of time was investigated.Before this research, the researcher had observed knowledge transfer from herself to makers during her past experiences as a practising designer.To further explore a possible learning relationship, the researcher engaged in the practice of a group of homecrafts practitioners as a participant-observer during two pairs of workshops with one month interval between them.The practitioners were recruited among attendees of lifelong classes in Mardin.The researcher spent extensive hours working with the participants testing several strategies of intervention. The workshops were documented with video footage, field notes, audio recording and photography. After each workshop the products were also documented for later evaluation by a group of expert evaluators recruited by the researcher.The evaluation of the products indicated that different strategies of intervention resulted in differences in the development of products. Hence, the researcher?s intensity of intervention had impact on the experiences of the participants and their work. Evidence from the video footage has pointed out that the researcher was establishing?bridges? with the participants, as theorized by Wood (2006), which enabled the development of different products.These?bridges? were identified and presented as a methodology of intervention for designers to enable makers develop their practice while they work together.
